PENNGROVE, Sonoma County — Property owners served by the Penngrove Sanitation Zone face a new annual sewer service charge of $2,476 for the 2026–27 fiscal year after a Sonoma Water board decision in May.
Sonoma Water reports the amount increased by $178, or 7.8%, from the previous annual rate of $2,298. The agency said the change supports wastewater collection operations, maintenance and infrastructure repairs. Charges are collected through the property tax roll and remain effective until the board changes them.
The published amount is the sanitation-zone service charge. A property’s actual tax bill may contain other separate assessments, and not every address with a Penngrove mailing address falls within the zone. Households should check their parcel’s service district before applying the figure.
What residents can do
Residents can review Sonoma Water’s official notice and ask its billing office for an explanation of charges. Owners facing financial difficulty should also look at the agency’s rate relief program, while checking whether the current application window remains open.
